Practice
Sheila graduated from Queen's University
Law School in 1993 with several awards in labour law, administrative
law and legal writing. She articled at another prominent union side
labour firm, and was called to the bar in 1995.
For a number of years, Sheila focused
on legal writing, specializing in clear language and design. Her clients
included Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers (OHCOW) and
the Toronto Workers' Health and Safety Legal Clinic, where she co-edited
a clear language guide to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and
wrote extensively about workers' rights and industry-specific health
hazards.
She joined RWBH in 2002 as a researcher
and has since returned to litigation. Her primary areas of practice
include representing OPSEU members at labour arbitration hearings and
assisting RNAO members with disciplinary matters at the College of Nurses
and the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board.
